For this delivery we flew from Queensland to Fiji to take over this Nordhavn 76 before undertaking the passage back to the Gold Coast.
Having previously delivered the vessel, we were already familiar with its systems and operating characteristics. This allowed us to complete the handover efficiently and focus on preparing the yacht for the Coral Sea crossing. We have delivered several similar trawlers across the region.
The passage from Fiji to Australia is well suited to a long-range trawler of this size, although careful attention still needs to be paid to weather windows, fuel planning and arrival timing. Conditions can vary considerably across the Coral Sea and patience is often rewarded.
This was the second time we had delivered this particular Nordhavn 76 and once again it proved why the model has such a strong reputation among serious passagemakers. The delivery concluded on the Gold Coast after a straightforward offshore passage from Fiji.
