The Riviera 47 is a model we are familiar with and well suited to coastal delivery work. The engine room access is good for routine checks underway and the cockpit provides plenty of space for storing delivery equipment, provisions and spare parts during longer passages.
For this delivery, one of the main preparation tasks was arranging auxiliary fuel bladders for the longer sections of coastline where fuel availability and operating hours can be limiting factors. Before departure we completed a full vessel inspection, checked fuel transfer equipment and secured the additional fuel storage onboard. We also picked up a small number of service items to carry during the trip.
Once underway the delivery settled into a routine of engine checks, fuel management and regular cleaning. Managing the additional fuel capacity required some planning, particularly during transfer operations, but it provided greater flexibility when moving between ports. The vessel remained comfortable to work on throughout the passage and the layout made daily checks straightforward.
The Riviera 47 arrived in Adelaide after a routine Bass Strait passage and was prepared for handover before being transferred to its receiving party.
