We recently completed a delivery aboard a Beneteau Oceanis 393 as part of a coastal relocation passage in Australia.
The Oceanis 393 is a practical cruising yacht with straightforward systems and easy sail handling, which makes it well suited to owner cruising and coastal delivery work. Boats in this size range tend to strike a good balance between onboard comfort and manageable offshore operation without becoming overly complex.
Conditions during the passage were fairly typical with a mix of comfortable sailing and some shorter coastal sea states along the route. The boat remained predictable underway and settled into an easy offshore routine once balanced properly under sail.
One thing noticeable on the Oceanis 393 is how usable the layout remains offshore. Good cockpit protection, manageable deck movement, and simple sail handling all help reduce fatigue during longer coastal passages.
