Caribbean 46

We recently completed another delivery aboard a Caribbean 46 along the Australian coast and it reinforced why these boats still have such a strong reputation locally.

The Caribbean range has always suited Australian conditions well. Solid ride, practical layout, good visibility from the flybridge, and predictable handling offshore. A lot of newer motor yachts feel heavily focused on marina living, whereas the Caribbean still feels like a boat designed for owners actually moving between ports and spending time offshore.

This particular passage involved a mix of coastal and offshore conditions with some typical messy NSW sea state during parts of the trip. Nothing severe, but enough to get a proper feel for the boat underway. The Caribbean handled it comfortably throughout and had a noticeably softer motion compared with many lighter boats in the same size range.

Fuel economy was also reasonable provided speeds stayed sensible. Like most offshore motor yacht deliveries, there is usually very little benefit in trying to push hard constantly. Running slightly slower generally improves comfort, range, and flexibility around weather systems.

The engine room setup is another strong point on these boats. Good access offshore makes a major difference during longer coastal passages and the Caribbean layout remained practical and straightforward throughout the delivery.

For owners looking at relocating vessels around Australia, the Caribbean 46 is very well suited to longer coastal cruising when operated conservatively and matched with realistic weather planning.

At Yacht Delivery Solutions, we regularly manage offshore and coastal motor yacht deliveries throughout Australia.
