A very politically challenging passage from Phuket, Thailand to Cyprus during the out break of the Iran war.
This Seawind 1370 was delivered from Phuket, Thailand to Cyprus during the early stages of the conflict affecting shipping in the Red Sea region. The passage connected Southeast Asia with the Eastern Mediterranean via the Indian Ocean and Red Sea.
The Seawind 1370 is a model we have spent time aboard previously. For a delivery of this length, good access around the vessel and straightforward machinery access are often more important than outright performance. The protected helm position also makes life easier during extended watchkeeping.
At the time of the delivery, routing through the Red Sea was receiving close attention throughout the maritime industry. Conditions and advisories were monitored throughout the passage while the yacht continued west toward the Mediterranean.
The vessel arrived in Cyprus and was handed over on completion of the delivery. Passages such as this form part of our ongoing multihull delivery work throughout Australia and beyond.
