Fountaine Pajot 59

The 4th time to delivery this catamaran. This time we flew to Tahiti to collect it.

Fountaine Pajot 59 Yacht Delivery From Tahiti

This was the fourth delivery we completed on this Fountaine Pajot 59, making it a particularly familiar vessel for our delivery team. On this occasion, we flew to Tahiti to take over the yacht for the final leg of its Pacific crossing and bring it home for the owner.

Taking over a Fountaine Pajot catamaran part-way through a Pacific crossing requires a different approach to a straightforward marina-to-marina delivery. The vessel had already completed earlier ocean legs, so the focus was on assessing its current condition, reviewing the onboard systems and preparing it for the remaining offshore passage.

The Tahiti passage is a significant offshore crossing, with weather window selection being particularly important as the route moves from the tropical South Pacific into the stronger and more variable conditions of the Australian approach. Fuel, water, provisions and essential spares were reviewed before departure to ensure the catamaran was properly prepared for the final ocean leg.

Having delivered this Fountaine Pajot 59 on four separate occasions provides an unusually detailed understanding of the yacht’s systems, performance and offshore characteristics. Repeat Fountaine Pajot deliveries also give the owner continuity, particularly when a vessel is being progressively relocated across the Pacific rather than completing the entire crossing in one passage.

For this delivery, the objective was straightforward: take over the yacht in Tahiti, complete the final offshore passage and return the vessel to QLD ready for the owner’s next stage of cruising. Our delivery work regularly includes long-distance Fountaine Pajot catamaran relocations between French Polynesia, Fiji, and Australia.
