Leopard 40 Yacht Delivery – Raiatea to Queensland

This Leopard 40 was delivered from Raiatea in French Polynesia to Queensland, Australia, as part of a long-distance relocation from the central South Pacific into the Australian cruising grounds.

The passage required a substantial offshore crossing with limited opportunities for resupply once committed to the longer ocean legs. Fuel, water, provisions and essential spares were therefore considered before departure, with the yacht prepared for an extended period away from port.

The route west from French Polynesia involves progressively moving through the South Pacific island groups before making the longer approach towards Australia. Seasonal weather patterns are particularly important on this passage, with the timing of the crossing influencing the conditions encountered along the route.

The Leopard 40 is a practical cruising catamaran for long-distance relocation, offering good sailing performance, useful payload capacity and the stability associated with a modern multihull.
