The Lagoon 420 is a practical cruising catamaran with plenty of storage space and good access around the vessel. For a longer offshore relocation like this one, the layout made it easy to organise provisions, spare parts and delivery equipment without affecting day-to-day operations onboard.
Before leaving Tahiti we spent time working through the vessel inventory, securing equipment and loading provisions for the next stage of the passage. A few routine service items were carried onboard as spares, and we completed the usual inspection of machinery, safety equipment and onboard systems before departure.
Like many longer deliveries, much of the trip settled into a routine. Daily checks, cleaning and general vessel management took up far more time than anything dramatic. We periodically washed salt from the cockpit and helm areas and kept on top of small maintenance tasks as they arose. The Lagoon‘s accommodation layout also made life easier during the longer periods at sea.
The vessel arrived on the Gold Coast and was cleaned, prepared for handover and transferred to its receiving party. Deliveries between Australia and the wider South Pacific form a regular part of our offshore delivery work, particularly with production cruising catamarans such as the Lagoon 420.
