TP52 Delivery – Sydney to Cairns
As an Australian yacht delivery company, we delivered this TP52 from Sydney to Cairns.
The TP52 is a purpose-built racing yacht and differs considerably from most of the cruising yachts we move. Storage space is limited, deck layouts are optimised for racing and much of the onboard equipment is focused on performance rather than long-term cruising. Before departure we spent time checking running rigging, deck hardware and organising equipment for the trip north.
Prior to leaving Sydney we completed a detailed inspection of the yacht and loaded provisions and spare parts for the passage. A number of sails were carried onboard, so part of the preparation involved organising and securing gear below decks to keep access clear throughout the delivery. We also completed a few routine maintenance items and stocked filters and engine consumables before departure.
Once underway the delivery settled into a straightforward routine. Keeping the yacht organised was an ongoing task, particularly with the amount of racing equipment onboard. Regular machinery checks, cleaning and general vessel management occupied most of the day-to-day work during the passage.
The TP52 arrived in Cairns and was prepared for handover before being transferred to the owner. Deliveries along Australia’s east coast are a regular part of our work, including racing yachts, offshore performance boats and cruising vessels of all sizes.
